The main functions of the “Branch Underwriting Manager” are to assess the creditworthiness of the borrowers – either individuals or business entities. Then submit credit proposals to the credit committee at the Head office or Branch level for decision-making. “Branch Underwriting Manager” undertakes risk assessment analysis of various types of lending proposals, from straightforward to complex business cases. This role demands a strong combination of interpersonal, analytical, and decision-making skills.
1) Prepare credit/loan proposals submitted by branches (Auto Loan and Retail Loan).
2) Analyze financial information and creditworthiness of borrowers.
3) Identify borrowers’ credit risks and propose corresponding mitigations.
4) Lead, guide, and support loan officers in processing and assessing loan proposals.
5) Take part in making the credit decision and providing credit opinion on credit structure to fit with the client’s worthiness.
6) Review the loan assessment and analytic practice of branch staff and provide recommendations for improvement.
7) Report weekly to the direct supervisor about the result of credit assessment and the finding of irregularity in loan assessment, challenges, and resolutions for the branch level.
8) Upload and authorize collateral & business to system.
9) Perform other tasks assigned by the direct supervisor.
